Thai Foot Reflexology, otherwise known as Thai Foot Massage, is a relaxing yet invigorating treatment of the feet and lower legs influenced by the ancient healing systems of both China and India.
THAI FOOT MASSAGE AND REFLEXOLOGY
Traditional Asian Medicine states that the feet are maps for the entire body. According to acupuncture and acupressure theory, there are 7,2000 nerve endings in the bottom of the feet that connect to the internal organs of the body. Western medicine states that we have millions of touch receptors in the bottom of our feet that are stimulated each time we stand or walk. The health of our body begins from the ground up. How we move and stand, our basic foundation, determines our posture, how we walk, and even how our organs function via the way they are held in the body. Thai Foot Massage and Reflexology is based in Zone Therapy. It is believed that applying pressure to certain areas that fall within within certain zones on the feet stimulates and works all of the major organs and systems in the body. Thai Foot Massage and Reflexology is one of the most requested and sought-after treatments in Thailand! The natives know its power and importance!
Your Thai Foot Massage and Reflexology session will begin with a traditional, ritual foot bath infused with Thai essential oils and Epsom salts. You will also be given some hot, decaffeinated, herbal tea to sip on throughout your session. Next, your feet and lower legs will be massaged with a soothing, herbal Thai balm to stimulate the Sen lines (energy lines). Then the feet will be worked with a traditional Thai reflexology stick, and pressure points on the feet will be stimulated with acupressure. Finally, the lower legs and feet will be wrapped in hot towels and then massaged again to increase circulation and diffuse any stagnant energy that was released in the reflexology portion.
